New characters sketches are up.

Posted by mongoid - January 8th, 2011

I posted some new character sketches for Conjurer. As you can see, the scope of the game is getting expanded quite a bit. You can see higher quality images at my production blog.

The scope is always expanding lol you've redone it so many times!
Im sure the final version will be 3D ;)

No but seriously it looks amazing, but I said that about the last one too and I still think they are both awesome.

I think you've been keeping up on this project back when it was supposed to be a simple browser game. :-P

Thanks for your support, though. When doing a game like this on my own time and on my own dollar, my boss becomes people like you who are eager to see it finished. :-)

Looking tre pimp.

So this is no longer aimed at browsers? How did I miss that?

My favorite is the benevolent manticore ha ha.

Yeah, the direction has shifted from making a browser game to making this an actual desktop title.

Beautifully done! Can't wait for more updates!

Nice bro. Looking pretty pro

I gotta say, I love the mage lord incognito. I can just imagine him still staring with his eyes wide open, even if he can't see from behind his hat XD

The bone sorrow looks awfully sad.

:(

Maybe I should name him Bone Emo.

Your sketches are epic and ur profile pic is too, u have a steam account?

Same as my blog name. See you in TF2.

fuck the sniper, spy all day

I hope it works out alright as a desktop game instead of a free flashgame. :)

Yeah, I hope so too. That's basically why I'm pouring so much effort into the scope and production value of the game. With browser-based flash games, you're expected to horse around for 20 minutes and log off. That makes perfect sense for something that you get for free. There's not enough value in them to justify someone paying for it.

I really feel that by the time I'm done with this, the gameplay and production value should be high enough to convince someone to part with something like $5 bucks.

so what is this game about

It's a sidescrolling hack and slash, only with more magic attacks. The only thing I could compare it to lately is a game like Shank.

The game is about a kid who gets pulled off the streets and tutored at an Academy of Magic to become a Conjurer. Some evil dude called the Mage Lord steals the secrets of the Academy and destroys it in an attempt to rule the world. As the last of the Order of Casters, the kid has to travel the land and search for the knowledge to fight back and defeat the Mage Lord.

Really good cartoony style.
Im waiting to see the game wich you are going to make with these chars.
