[Video] Roughing out the main character's run animation

Posted by mongoid - March 23rd, 2008

I just posted a video of the process of roughing out the main character's run animation on my development blog. Let me know what you think! Now that I figured out how to record myself, expect a LOT more videos on the visual development of MageQuest.

In case you all haven't heard, The Behemoth just started a development blog for Castle Crashers! Awesome!

Wow that mage looks awesome =D

Nice site, everything is looking great with that game. Good luck, hope it turns out how you want it man!

That was insightful Mongoid! Good stuff!

Looking forward to learning more off ya.

Thanks Maestro! Looking forward to more of your music, too. And your new audio portal contest!

Nice man, im surprised you didn't onion skin more than you did. It's kinda sad I could tell you operate on a mouse just from the video haha

Actually, I use a Wacom Intuos3. I just turned off pressure sensitivity so it doesn't look like calligraphic pen strokes.

Fuck ya! Trench coat mafia!!!

cool i always love seeing artist's animation process and thanksfor telling us about the castle crashers development blog.

That is HOT... I really gotta hook up a Wacom and try to advance my drawing and animation skills... They've gone stagnant over the years when I should have been evolving. There is ONE spot in Castle Crashers where I got to animate some stuff, though... It will be pretty obvious when people see it. :)

Haha, cool! I'll keep an eye out for it.

I did the same thing for a while, letting my animation go in lieu of programming. I think making "Pico of the Dark Ages" and "Coffee Shop" really helped slap me back into shape. It's hard to believe that it's almost been a year since then. :-O

your clearly talented

that was quite fun.

Dude, you just made me realise, that i have been doing everything wrong, i was also making that stuff, but i was just too focussed on the details, thanks man. I can finally work it out in to a real character now.

I was watching the video when it suddenly flicked. Then I was noted that the video is no longer avaible. Why did you delete it?

Odd, it's working again :/
