LazerBeamz is finally done.

Posted by mongoid - December 21st, 2007

Ugh, LazerBeamz is finally done.

What an odd project. It was my second major attempt at ActionScript 3.0, and I still have a lot to learn, though I feel much more comfortable with it now.

There was a long period of frustration with trigonometry. I really should have paid more attention in class, though that was about 3 - 4 years ago. A lot of other stuff has helped me forget most of the function and identities I needed. Hey! Did you know that arctangent gives you an incorrect angle of it's in the 4th quadrant. It took me a day to figure that out. ONE WHOLE DAY spent scrutinizing at the same 4 lines of code!

Anyway, I'm glad it is out. I hope you all enjoy it.

:-)

Actionscript 3 reminds me of trying to train a rabid monkey.

it was great. good job. Merry Early Christmas!

if you want to get more comfortable with As3, I recommend learning OOP (object orient programming) in depth.

Oh, I'm very comfortable with OOP. In fact, I studying to be an Information and Computer Science major at UC Irvine, CA. I think the difficulties faced with Lazerbeamz are akin to the typical setbacks found on most software projects: Unforseen delays and inadequate project design.
